QA checklists

Create custom quality-assurance checklists and attach them to campaigns or assets to add a layer of vigilance before anything gets handed off, scheduled, or deployed.

Step-by-step guide

Creating a QA checklist

Navigate to the QA checklists section and create a new checklist. You can create as many checklists as you need (e.g. one for emails, another for SMS). Configure:

  • Default checklist — Optionally mark one as the default so it auto-selects when creating new campaigns.
  • Associated themes and content types — Tag the checklist with relevant campaign types (e.g. Email, SMS) for organizational purposes.

Adding checklist items

Build out your checklist by adding line items. Each item has:

  • Label — A description of what to check (e.g. "Check campaign naming convention is correct", "Validate segments").
  • Required toggle — Mark whether the item must be checked for the QA status to be considered approved.

Items are drag-and-drop reorderable so you can set the sequence that makes sense for your team's workflow. You can also clone an existing checklist to use it as a starting point for a new one.

How QA approval works

The QA status is determined by the required items. For example, if a checklist has 3 items and 2 are marked required, the status will show as Approved (green) once those 2 required items are checked — even if the optional item is still unchecked. The progress indicator will always show the total count (e.g. "2 out of 3 items checked").

Attaching a checklist to a campaign

When creating or editing a campaign, scroll to the checklist section and select one of your saved checklists. The campaign will then display:

  • A QA status indicator (Not Approved / Approved).
  • A progress count of checked items (e.g. "0 out of 2 items checked").

When it's time to review, edit the campaign, go through each checklist item, and check them off. Save the campaign to update the QA status.

Attaching a checklist to an asset

The same functionality is available on assets. When editing an asset, select a QA checklist from the dropdown. The asset will display its own QA status and progress count, independent of any campaign-level checklist.

Tips

  • Create separate checklists for different campaign types — an email QA checklist will have different items than an SMS or paid ad checklist.
  • Mark only the critical items as required. Optional items are still visible and trackable, but won't block the Approved status.
  • QA checklists can also be pre-attached to campaigns via initiative templates, so recurring campaigns come with their checklist already assigned.
