Custom brief templates

Build reusable brief templates with custom fields so your team follows a consistent, structured briefing process every time.

Step-by-step guide

Creating a brief template

Navigate to Content → Briefs and click Add a brief template. Give it a name (e.g. "General Email Brief"), an optional description, and tag it with associated themes and types for organizational purposes.

Adding and configuring fields

Click Add field to start building out your template. Each field has a label, a field type, optional placeholder and helper text, and a required toggle. You can drag fields to reorder them at any time.

Available field types:

  • Text — Single-line input, useful for titles or short copy.
  • Text area — Multi-line input for longer content like body copy.
  • Image / File — Upload field for design references or supporting assets.
  • Select — Single-choice dropdown.
  • Multi-select — Multiple-choice selection (e.g. format: JPEG, PNG, MP4).
  • Checkbox — Yes/no toggle.
  • Radio button — Single selection from multiple options.
  • Number — Numeric input (e.g. quantity of assets).
  • Date — Date picker.

Using a template when creating an asset

When creating a new asset, scroll to the Creative Brief section and select one of your saved templates from the dropdown. All of the template's fields will appear pre-configured, ready for you to fill in. You can also use templates at a more advanced level by attaching them to pre-planned assets inside initiative templates.

Customizing a brief per asset

After selecting a template, you can modify it for that specific asset without affecting the underlying template:

  • Remove fields — Delete any field that isn't relevant to this particular asset. The original template stays unchanged.
  • Add fields — Insert one-off fields (e.g. a CTA link) that only apply to this asset.
  • Reorder fields — Drag fields to rearrange the sequence for this asset's brief.

Tips

  • Mark key fields like title copy and body copy as required so nothing gets missed.
  • Use placeholder text and helper text to guide team members on what to enter.
  • Create separate templates for different asset types (e.g. email briefs, ad briefs, landing page briefs) to keep things focused.
